Alex Morales has been a part of Palm Beach County baseball since his high school days where he played at Belle Glade Christian HS. He then moved on to play at Palm Beach Community College(now Palm Beach St.) before finishing up his playing career at the University of South Florida. After college Alex began his coaching career in Palm Beach County. Alex was the head coach at his alma mater(Belle Glade Christian), then Forest Hill HS for 3 years, and eventually as an assistant at Palm Beach CC, before embarking on his professional baseball career. While at Forest Hill HS all his players moved on to either college or professional baseball.
In 1994 Alex had the opportunity of a limetime to start his professional career. First, as an assistant with the Stockton Ports in the California League. While there he coached future major leaguers, Corey Lidle, Bobby Jones, and Kenny Felder, amongst others. From there Alex went on to manage the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League while also scouting central Florida during the non minor league playing season. Alexs' 1995 and 1996 teams won the league championship. During this time he managed such future major league players as Geoff Jenkins, Robinson Cancel, Mickey Lopez, Matt and Jason Childers, amongst others.
After scouting for 12 years, Alex took the opportunity from 2006-10 to get back into the coaching ranks at his former JC alma mater, Palm Beach CC(now Palm Beach St.) While at PBCC, he coached and developed many players that went on to play at the four year levels of college baseball (including D1/D2/NAIA) and professional baseball. This list also includes MLB players, Tony Cruz, Kevin Siegrist, and Brad Peacock. His teams also included 4 All-Americans, and 2 Gold Glove winners, while reaching the Regionals 3 of the 5 years. Alex also has two boys, both of whom played D1 baseball.
Prior to his coaching stint at PBCC, Alex was a full time scout with the Milwaukee Brewers, MLB Scouting Bureau, and the Atlanta Braves. Some of his notable MLB signings during this period were Johnny Venters, Greg Mullins, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Post Alexs' PBCC coaching time, Alex worked for the Washington Nationals for 15 years eventually rising to Southeast Crosschecker. Some of his notable signings among many during this time were: Brian Goodwin, Jesus Luzardo, Jake Knoll, Cody Wilson, Yohandy Morales, Orlando Ribalta, and Elijah Green.
