Chris has been part of the South Florida Baseball Community his entire life. A 2001 graduate of Monsignor Pace High School, Chris was drafted by the Chicago White Sox as a 3B. After deciding to attend Broward Community College to keep his MLB Draft options open, Chris was again drafted in 2002 by the Anaheim Angels, this time as a RHP. Chris eventually signed with the Angels in 2003. In his 3 years in the Angels organization he played with such future MLB players as Miami Braddock HS product Sean Rodriguez and Jacksonville native and World Series Champion, Howie Kendrick. After a stint in Independent Baseball, Chris began his coaching career at his alma mater, Pace High School, winning the Florida State Championship that same year while also coaching 2 MLB Draft Picks. Chris also became involved in the summer travel ball circuit as a Head Coach and Pitching Coach. In 2011 Chris was the pitching coach in the prestigious Collegiate Valley Summer League for the Covington Lumber Jacks, winning the league championship that same year. In 2014 while coaching the pitchers at Miami American High School with former MLB player Rickey Gutierrez, they won the Florida State Championship and he saw one his pitchers, Ronnie Williams, become a 2nd Rd. MLB Draft pick. That same team also produced current MLB player and University of Miami alumni Romy Gonzalez of the Chicago White Sox. In 2015 the Atlanta Braves came calling, and Chris became their Dominican Summer League Pitching Coach. By 2016 he was promoted to the Braves Gulf Coast League affiliate in Orlando. Chris was tasked with developing a pitching staff there that included current MLB pitchers Ian Anderson, Bryce Wilson, an Kyle Muller. At the conclusion of the 2016 season Chris began his scouting career with the Braves as their Central American International Scouting Supervisor. Chris won yet another Championship as a Scouting Staff member of the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves. Chris' talents continue to garner attention within the industry. Following the 2021 season he was hired away by another organization for an International Crosschecker role. While in that role, Chris was once again coveted by another organization and was hired away and promoted to Special Assignment/Hybrid Crosschecker, Chris is now in his 9th year as a Crosshchecker in MLB.
Chris brings his Championship pedigree, along with a wealth of baseball knowledge and industry networking to FDRS. Chris will head up the Showcase/Camp Division, while also serving as a Scout/Recruitment Coach here at FDRS.
