As an Athletic Advisor and Coach, Paul Herfurth is a skilled problem solver and solution
provider. A dynamic engagement manager and facilitator for individuals and schools,
Paul specializes in maximizing performance for athletic organizations and student-
athletes.
Driven by his passion for youth and athletics, Herfurth is currently the Director of
Athletics at NSU University School in Davie, Florida. Under his direction, the athletic
program has experienced great success including multiple state championships in
football, basketball, soccer, swimming/diving and track & field. Paul’s leadership has
also produced national recognition with the 2012 football State Championship, a #1
national ranking, and the 2018 Boys Basketball State Championship and National
Champion Runner-Up. He has also guided and mentored countless numbers of student-
athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.
Paul’s experience has taken him to the professional sports level where he served as the
Director of Professional Scouting and Assistant Director of Player Development for the
Colorado Rockies. He also served as a hitting coach in the Texas Rangers organization
before returning to his alma mater, Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory where he
served as Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach.
Additionally, Paul’s leadership talents have led to his national recognition as the Miami
Herald and Florida Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year at the nationally
recognized St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. His development skills run deep,
allowing him to advance the careers of many players at the collegiate and professional
levels including the honor of coaching and mentoring Troy Cameron, the 1997 first-
round selection of the Atlanta Braves. As an athletic consultant at Florida Atlantic
University, Paul has been an instrumental partner in the development of a high-
performance sports mindset and culture within the athletic department.
This extensive experience provides Paul the understanding of what he calls “the
separator,” and knowing what it takes to build champions. This knowledge is what he
delivers to his clients, driving breakthrough success. His passion and leadership drives
him to mentor and provide opportunities for scholar-athletes to continue their passion to
play at the collegiate level.
Paul has a B.S. in Athletic Administration from St. John’s University and an M.S. in
Athletic Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He is a servant leader in his
community giving countless hours to youth programs, schools and his Church. Paul is a
native of South Florida where he currently resides with his son, Ryan.
