Navigating the college recruiting landscape in any sport is very difficult. Especially if you don’t have the experience and knowledge of having done it many times before. Complicate things with baseball being a scholarship percentage sport (not a head count sport) and the task becomes even further difficult. The example is D1 Football can have 85 Scholarship players on the roster. All scholarships are 100% Full Tuition/Books, Room & Board. That is a Head Count Sport. In D1 Baseball there are 11.7 Scholarships to be divided amongst 27 players on a max 35 man roster. The minimum scholarship a player can receive is 25%. Each D1 team has up to 8 additional Walk-On Players. Walk-On roster spots are highly coveted and most often are recruited as well. This is known as a Preferred Walk-On.
We are only looking to assist the serious minded college bound student-athlete. We can assess and evaluate potential student-athletes based on their academic level along with their athletic level potential. There are fits across all levels of College Baseball from D1 to D3, NAIA, and Junior College.
This process of being able to navigate which offers are a potential better fit than others can be overwhelming. Especially when the process is starting earlier and earlier for these types of recruits at with some of the top programs in the country. We can provide experience and guidance on how to find the best potential fit at some of these elite programs that are recruiting you. Along with whether or not it’s the right time to commit at such a young age.
Welcome to 90%- 95% of the High School Student-Athletes out there. There are just a little over 1,650 college baseball programs out there across NCAA D1/D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO levels with approximately 35,000 players. We will provide you with the knowledge, guidance, experience, and expertise, on how to generate interest from programs. This will be based on both athletic and academic abilities, along with financial and geographical considerations.
While there is no simple one answer. Anytime during your High School years would be a generic answer. Recruiting at the Top D1 Programs is happening earlier and earlier. A high end recruit may start getting offers as early as 8th/9th grade. More often than not, sometime during the Sophomore/Junior Years is ideal to enroll in our program. Even the Summer prior to a players Senior Year may not be too late. The reality is that if you don’t have “Committable Offers” by the summer of your Senior Year, the focus will more than likely be at the D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO levels. Programs from these levels begin the recruiting and offering process later than most D1 programs. The recruiting process can take a month or maybe up to 3 years until a committable/viable offer is in place. Bottom line is there is no “Cookie Cutter” approach. Each and every client of Florida Diamond Recruiting Services will have their own “Custom Plan” laid out for them.
